The Secondhand Goods Dealers Act came into effect on 1st December 2007. Under this law, scrap metal dealers are required to make payment to sellers of scrap metals using Crossed Cheques. We are committed to provide transparent verification of scrap metal quality and quantity and secured and authorized payment for our business transaction.

Transparent and accurate weight of scrap metals using computerized weighbridge facility
All our facilities are equipped with computerized weighbridge. Our computerized weighing system have digital weight indicators installed at convenient locations for customers' viewing. Our weighbridges are calibrated by Springs Singapore (Weight and Measure) periodically.
Our customers are assured of accuracy and reliability in the scrap metals quantity transacted.
Payment with Crossed Cheques in compliance with Secondhand Goods Dealers Act (2007)
In compliance with the Secondhand Goods Dealers Act and to ensure that payments are made to the correct entity or authorized person, Union Steel Group uses Crossed Cheques as our only payment mode.
We believe that payment via a Crossed Cheque is the most suitable payment mode to ensure the integrity of the business transaction and we will continue to enforce this practice in our Group.
